3 months and crafting updates

I can't believe Naomi is already 3 months old!! Here are some updates: -She's officially wearing 0-3 month sized clothing! No more newborn clothes, which does make me a little sad. The good news is that my sister can use them for her little one that is due to arrive in a couple of weeks. -We went to a fun block party for July 4th and Naomi got to join us. She didn't stay up late enough to watch any fireworks :) -She has been rolling over like crazy! We'll put her in one spot in her crib and we'll find her in a completely new section of the crib. Oh yes- she is now sleeping in her crib in her own room! -She can hold her head up and wants to do so much more! She has tried pulling her legs under her when playing on the ground. I hope she's not an early crawler! On another note, I've been tracked-out! Many of you know this is crafting time for me! Last year I made this wreath: Unfortunately it started to completely fall apart...

Two Month Update

When I started to make Naomi's two month picture I saw her one month picture...wow has she changed! This post is way late by the way! Naomi is actually almost 3 months; I'm just now getting around to posting this! When Naomi was 2 months old I went back to work and Grandma Riegel and a friend of ours (Dana) watched Naomi during the day. Everything worked out really well and we're blessed to have such wonderful people taking care of our daughter! Some quick updates at the two month mark: -She has started to really interact with people -She is still wearing newborn clothing, but is able to fit in some 0-3 outfits -She is sleeping more at night, but still getting up 2 times  -She has rolled over 2 times during tummy time (she's propped up a little) -Still sleeping in the bassinet in our room Be on the lookout for the 3 month update...since it'll only be in 1 1/2 weeks!

VA Cookout

Jeff's dad set up a cookout in his hometown of Clarksville, VA for many relatives. We were able to go and take Naomi with us. She got to meet many family members at the cookout! We first stopped by Grandma Christmas' house. I guess we should start calling her Great-Grandma Christmas because of Naomi! It was so precious to see the two of them together! I then had to get a 4 generation family picture: This is my favorite picture of the weekend! Some Aunt Muriel time at the cookout: It was a gorgeous day to have a cookout! Some cousin time: I also got to meet some family members this day that I had never met before! Unfortunately I didn't get any more pictures from this weekend. I need to get better at taking pictures...it's just so much more difficult when you have a baby with you!

Yard Work

As many of you know, Jeff and I like to have a spring project for our yard. This year we had a new addition to our family, so we got a late start on all of this. This year for mother's day Jeff gave me 2 Hydrangeas.  One is blue and the other is white with pink around the edges. I have wanted Hydrangeas for a long time, so this was a perfect gift for me! My vision was to slowly add flowers to our back yard. Last fall we seeded the backyard making the grass a bigger part of the area. We still had some "natural areas" which is where I was going to put flowers. This is what the backyard looked like: These were the best pictures I could find of the yard itself after we had it seeded. So not long after Mother's day comes my birthday. My parents surprised me with many more flowers that I wanted in the back yard! I got 3 more Hydrangeas (these are dark pink), a butterfly bush, and a Peony! We finally got to place them and plant them in the back yard: Ro...

Mother's Day Dedication

Every year on Mother's day our church holds a dedication service. This year Jeff and I decided to dedicate Naomi. This basically means that we made a vow to God and the church to raise Naomi in the ways of the Lord. We will teach her about God, pray with her, read the Bible with her, bring her to church, etc. Both of our families joined us on this special day! We first started with the service at church: Then some of us went out for brunch at Brigs! Unfortunately it was Mother's day, so we had to wait a while...but it was fun being able to spend time with both Jeff's and my families! As you can see Naomi slept through most of the event, but she's still pretty cute!

Wedding Season

It's that time of year- wedding time! Recently we were invited to two weddings of dear friends of ours. The first wedding was for Chandler and Jason (some of Jeff's friends from college). The wedding ceremony was at Meredith college in the ampitheter. The theme was hot air balloons, which was so neat! I had never seen this idea before!  Naomi got to meet many of our friends for the first time at this wedding! The second wedding we went to was for Rich and Liz (some friends from Jeff's soccer team. The ceremony was outside and the reception was in an old building with exposed brick and wood floors. It was absolutely beautiful! Naomi was again was quite a hit! One fun thing about this wedding was they asked women to wear British style hats since the groom is from England. Congratulations Jason & Chandler and Rich & Liz!
