New Fridge

The fridge that came with our house when we bought it, was not the best fridge in the world. We could not use the ice machine because there was permanent rust and grossness in it. I tried to clean it when we first moved in, but it was so old, that it just stayed where it was. We also could not use the water in the fridge because there was mold in the tubes! I tried to clean it with a toothbrush and a rolled up paper towel. But again-no such luck in actually getting it clean! Another issue-it leaked! We could not figure out where the leaking was coming from, so we shut off the water. Guess what- IT STILL LEAKED! It was getting so bad that it was actually ruining the floor around the fridge! Here is our lovely off white/light tan/yellowish fridge. You can see the mat under it, that to help with the water leaking. Inside isn't much better. As you may be able to see, some of the shelves and drawers are broken. We didn't have a lot of space either. Needless to say- we neede...

More Yard Work

Here is part of our front yard. As you can see, there are SO many bushes! Including the 'monkey grass' there are 25 in total! That is WAY too many! It was really taking over the front of the house instead of 'enhancing' it. So we decided to take a lot of them out. First we started with the 'monkey grass': Then we cut down 5 of the bushes so we could pull them out easier. Then Jeff tied a chain around the bushes and his dad pulled them out with his truck. Because the bushes are so old, the roots were really deep. I'm so glad that Jeff's parents came up this weekend to help with this! Otherwise, our front yard would still be taken over by bushes! After pulling out the bushes, we trimmed the remaining bushes down. It looks a little bare right now, but the bushes will grown in. The bottoms of them were covered by the previous bushes, so they look a little sad right now. We also moved the two little bushes on the right side to the front....

Easter

Easter is a time in which we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This year I was involved in a production at our new church for Easter. It was a story that followed the two thieves that hung on the cross next to Jesus. Jeff, because he is a wonderful husband, came to see me play my french horn both nights the play was performed. The actual weekend of Easter we spent time with my family. We have many traditions that are still continued even though we are all adults now! For a long time the excuse was that Anna was so much younger and should get to experience these things just as long as the other of us did. Now it's a fun way to celebrate Easter with the family. First we dyed eggs: This was Wil's first time dying eggs! Anna just had her wisdom teeth out, so she was a little under the weather. Here are our finished eggs. As you can see we had an underwater egg, a polka-dotted egg, and some multi-colored eggs. On the actual day of...

Craft Day

Brittany, Anna, and me decided to have a craft day. We quickly found out that we were a deadly combination in craft stores! We ended up spending most of our time shopping, and not actually crafting. Once we were finally finished shopping, we headed to Brittany's house to work on our crafts for the day! Brittany was making some picture frames. She made one with a monogram for her and her husband. She also made two frames with her dog's paw prints in them. They turned out way cute! Anna made several closet things. Here you can see her baskets to hold hats and other supplies. She had a little bit of yellow popping through, it looked really cute! She also made a shelf to hold belts, some letters that spelled out 'dress' to hang in her closet, a crate to hold towels, and a smaller crate to hold toilet paper. She sent me some pictures of the finished product and it all looks so good! She is quite a creative person! One thing I made was some picture frames...

Wreath

My wonderful mother let me use her glue gun to start my spring wreath (since I killed mine making my last crafty project). I got my idea for this wreath from this site.   First I gathered my supplies: 1 yard of burlap (3 strips and the rest in sqares), a glue gun, and a foam wreath. Next I wrapped the strips around the wreath and hot glued it into place. Then I took the squares, folded them up, and glued them to the wreath. The original blogger did a much better job explaining, so if you want to make one be sure to check it out. The original blogger used pins to push in the pieces of burlap, but I hot glued them. Let me tell you, I got MANY burns on my fingers. About half way through this project I was wishing I had used pins instead. Once I had finally gone all the way around the wreath I needed to make some flowers to brighten it up. I cut strips of colored fabric, folded it in half, and glued it. Then I cut slits in the fabric, rolled it up, and presto-a flower! I mad...
