Decorating for Christmas

The day after Thanksgiving we got our Christmas tree and started to decorate. Naomi was fascinated with the tree and the ornaments! The finished product! Merry Christmas!

Christmas photo shoot

Christmas time is right around the corner. Granddaddy got Naomi this cute Christmas outfit, but she was about to outgrow it...so what does that mean? Photoshoot! Here are my favorite 3 pictures from the day (the middle one being my favorite): Here are some other cute ones: How cute is this? Except this is why she was really smiling: Leaves, grass, and pine straw must be yummy! My poor child...she will be subjected to many photo shoots soon with all of the holidays coming up!

Nola's dedication

Our niece, Nola, was dedicated at her church recently. It is so nice that we live close enough to get to participate in family events like this! The festivities started off with a dedication ceremony on the stage.  One of my favorite parts was when the pastor took both girls in his hands and held them with the biggest grin you could imagine! After the service my child was basically kidnapped unless she needed feeding. That's ok because she doesn't get to see Aunt Katie and Uncle Wil in person much (just FaceTime)! Big feast with my family and Hunter's family. After food Naomi woke up a little and we got more smiles! Aunt Katie fed Naomi a pickle and she LOVED it! She even cried when Katie took it away! Katie and Nola I think this picture perfectly sums up how funny and go-with-the-flow Tillie is! We had some fun time with my family...even though you'd never know we were there by the pictures! Ha!

Halloween

We started off Halloween by going to our church's fall festival. Unfortunately Naomi was a little too small to participate in a lot of the activities, but she loved playing in the hay: For Halloween we (mostly I) dressed Naomi up as an adorable zebra. She helped me pass out candy to trick-or-treaters and gave everyone a huge smile! I love this picture because Naomi kept looking back at Jeff and smiling! I know there was some controversy about her costume...but I still think she's adorably cute!

Making Baby Food

So Naomi turned 6 months recently which means time for solid food. I knew that I wanted to make my own food and wanted to start with purees. I know that there are varying opinions about how to start solids and the best way to go. We decided to do purees, but I understand why others choose different paths. Since I knew where I wanted to start, my supermom said she could help. First we went to Trader Joe's to get all the vegetables and fruits. While there we got distracted by all of the pumpkin goodies... The first thing we did was to cook all of the food either by steaming it, boiling it, or cooking it in the oven.  Once the food was cooked we blended it and placed the food into separate bowls. One for sweet potatoes, one for butternut squash, one for carrots, etc. Then came the fun part! We (mostly supermom) started blending different fruits and veggies together. We tried the combinations as we went and they were all quite tas...
