Gender Reveal Party

We held a gender reveal party for our family the Saturday after we found out we were having a girl. I had decorated the house in pink and blue...my mom was mad about this. She wanted some sort of hint that it was a boy or a girl! Since I love pumpkins the theme was, "He or She, what will our little pumpkin be?". So of course I had to have pumpkin decorations too! Here are some of the decorations: Also made boy punch and girl punch...but of course I forgot to take pictures of the food. But here are the recipes for both of these punches: Girl Punch Boy Punch The girl punch was a big hit, I highly recommend it! We also had pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, hot dogs, potato salad (thanks dad), chips, coleslaw, and cupcakes. After everyone arrived at the party and all the food was eaten we had my family join us in our backyard. I painted one box blue for boy and one box pink for girl. I stuffed the girl box with streamers, balloons, and other gi...

Gender Reveal

As many of you know I absolutely love Pinterest. It's like a haven for crafty people. So when I found out that I was pregnant I wanted to do so many fun and creative things that I found on Pinterest. One thing I wanted to do was find out the gender of the baby with Jeff in some creative way. I also thought it would be fun to have this moment caught on camera so we can look back on it. Look at all of these fun ideas: Paint fight and you find out the gender when you throw the pain at each other- Opening balloons together- Cutting open a cake and candy falling out. Jeff's cousin did this and it was way cute! So I pitched this idea to Jeff and his immediate response was, "No way! I won't be able to wait to find out!" So I made a compromise with him, isn't that what marriage is all about? :) He was going to surprise me with the gender of the baby. So he thought and though...and though some more. Then my wonderful husband came up with this great...

Pregnancy update

Here are the Hester pregnancy updates. This is a LOT more difficult to keep up with than I originally thought it would be! This week was a great week because we got to see our little one again on the screen. We definitely have a wiggly little one! We also learned that we are at the lowest risk for any birth defect, which was great to hear! You'll have to excuse the blurriness of this picture. I was feeling really good for two weeks because I didn't have to go into work because of track-out. After getting scolded for painting the baby's bathroom, my handy-dandy father-in-law came up to pain the actual bedroom. It looks GREAT! Now all we need to do is get the furniture and decorate! Now that I'm back at work I am exhaused almost every day. Teaching really takes a tole on my body! A lot of exciting thing have happened since the last picture for us. 1-We got to feel the baby move! This was the wildest, weirdest, and coolest thing I have ever exp...

State Fair

This year Jeff and I went to the State Fair with Hunter, Lauren, and Tillie! Now, there is something you need to know about how my family enjoys the fair. We basically go for the food and not much else. So, all of the following pictures are basically of food...that's just how we roll. The first sampling of the day was PUMPKIN funnel cake!!!!! It had cinnamon, icing, and caramel on top of it. YUMMY!  Then we went to get some corn from the same place we have gotten our corn for several years and look who we bumped into! The funniest part about this was that we didn't even plan to run into dad and Anna, it just happened. I'm glad we did though, it was nice to have some time together. Jeff got his once a year giant turkey leg: Lauren got her once a year fried Oreo's. The only difference was that this year she got them fried in red velvet batter. I got to taste one and it was good, but boy was that sweet! Anna got her once a year fried Uncrusta...

Anniversary

On October 9th Jeff and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary! 2 years, wow we are blessed! Last year I found this really neat idea on Pinterest where you take a picture of you and your spouse every year on your anniversary holding a picture from the year before. Last year we had dinner at home, so last year's picture is us holding our wedding picture in the entry way of our house. This year we were able to go to Ruth Chris' Steakhouse. Our wonderful waiter took the picture for us. My plan is to do this every year. Then we will be able to look back at this picture and see every wedding anniversary like a window.  The anniversary festivities continued at the State vs. Syracuse football game! Thank you special friends for thinking of us again this year! :) It started off being kind of cloudy, but pretty good weather. By half-time it was drizzling a little bit, but we were at a State game so it didn't bother us at all! And yes, me be...
