Girl's beach week

Every summer my sisters and I have taken a beach trip. It's a tradition that was started because we started to get older and we wanted to stay close. Thus, sister beach trip was born. Well...this year it turned into a girls' beach weekend because Mom came!

Because Lauren was pregnant we dug some holes so she could get some sun on her back:

We went to Atlantic beach, thank you in-laws! The sand was nice an pretty white and the ocean was sparkling and clear! We were supposed to have bad weather for about 3 days, but it was nice and sunshiny the whole time!

Anna and I went looking for seashells...and boy were there a TON!

While looking for shells we found a sea slug. It caught our eyes because it was bright blue and purple.

We also found a washed up jelly fish:

Before we left we stopped for lunch at the ONLY restaurant that was open for lunch. Thankfully it was DELICIOUS!

This was our view during our last lunch:

We had a ton of fun relaxing, spending time with each other, and enjoying the beach!

Bunny

About a year ago I got a bunny as my classroom pet. I have wanted a Netherland Dwarf bunny for quite some time because of their cute ears and they stay small. Small bunny = perfect for classoom life. So after the beloved Max (my old guinea pig) left us, I knew now was the time to get a bunny! Thank goodness my sister Anna looks on Craigs List all the time for animals because she actually found a Netherland Dwarf Bunny that was up for adoption! YAY! I got her a couple of days after I found the post and was so excited. The kids decided to name her Maddi after a character in the book Fever 1793 . If you like historical fiction books,  you should check it out because it's really good! Little did I know that bunnies are full of personality! On her first day home she bit me 3 times and got me 2 times with her nails. Good thing is now she likes me (most of the time) and is much more friendly! She lets the kids in the class pet her and feed her. She also hops around the classroom....

Sun

We started our study of Space with the Sun. We first read Genesis 1:14-19 and talked about how God created the Sun and the Moon. We then watched this very cute video made by Story Bots. If you haven't seen this show on Netflix, I highly recommend it! I ordered this book off of Amazon and we read the portions about the sun together. Next we read a poem about the sun and they colored a picture of the sun. For Math, we sorted pictures of the Sun, Moon, and Earth. Naomi and Isaiah took turns counting how many of each object we had. Isaiah continued counting, while Naomi started to add. How many Suns and Moons are there? How many Moons and Earths are there? Very cute activity that you can find here .  For phonics Naomi and I played this game to practice CVC words. We each drew 5 cards and tried to find a place to put them that made an actual word. We were able to play this game a couple of times! I was very surprised at how much fun Naomi had playing this! When we were finished playing...

21 Weeks Update

I've been really bad about keeping up with these pregnancy pictures...life just gets so crazy sometimes! We had some exciting things happen this week as you can see in the picture. 1- It's a girl! I was completely convinced that we were having a boy. I had boy dreams, no morning sickness, and Jeff comes from a family of 2 brothers and 2 nephews. Needless to say, I was completely shocked! Don't get me wrong, I  am very excited to have a baby girl, just very shocked! 2- I'm halfway through my pregnancy. This is crazy! Time has really been flying! I have a friend at work who is also pregnant and is one day behind me. She brought me a bagel one morning to celebrate our 1/2 way point. This was so needed because I completely forgot to eat breakfast that morning! Thanks Melissa! 3- I play french horn for my church orchestra. My belly is now starting to get in the way of my bell, pushing it out of the way! Our little girl likes to dance a lot when I play. It is...
