Week with Katie

 
Because of school track out I was able to go and spend a week with my sister in Clemmons. The first fun activity of the week was visiting the Dixie Classic Fair in Winston Salem. We were able to go with Wil's parents and niece too!

Wil and I enjoyed some fair corn.

Wil got a Krispy Kreme Burger. He actually attracted quite a crowd with this burger.
 
I love this picture because Hailey is showing exactly what I was thinking. While Wil was eating the burger, she covered her eyes. Too funny!

Katie got some funnel cake...and shared some with me :)

We found some Pumpkin funnel cake and a pumpkin caramel apple. I was in pumpkin world! I didn't get any pumpkin funnel cake here, I decided I'd get some at the State fair in a couple of weeks.

21 Weeks Update

I've been really bad about keeping up with these pregnancy pictures...life just gets so crazy sometimes! We had some exciting things happen this week as you can see in the picture. 1- It's a girl! I was completely convinced that we were having a boy. I had boy dreams, no morning sickness, and Jeff comes from a family of 2 brothers and 2 nephews. Needless to say, I was completely shocked! Don't get me wrong, I  am very excited to have a baby girl, just very shocked! 2- I'm halfway through my pregnancy. This is crazy! Time has really been flying! I have a friend at work who is also pregnant and is one day behind me. She brought me a bagel one morning to celebrate our 1/2 way point. This was so needed because I completely forgot to eat breakfast that morning! Thanks Melissa! 3- I play french horn for my church orchestra. Bunny

About a year ago I got a bunny as my classroom pet. I have wanted a Netherland Dwarf bunny for quite some time because of their cute ears and they stay small. Small bunny = perfect for classoom life. So after the beloved Max (my old guinea pig) left us, I knew now was the time to get a bunny! Thank goodness my sister Anna looks on Craigs List all the time for animals because she actually found a Netherland Dwarf Bunny that was up for adoption! YAY! I got her a couple of days after I found the post and was so excited. The kids decided to name her Maddi after a character in the book Fever 1793 . If you like historical fiction books,  you should check it out because it's really good! Little did I know that bunnies are full of personality! On her first day home she bit me 3 times and got me 2 times with her nails. Good thing is now she likes me (most of the time) and is much more friendly! She lets the kids in the class pet her and feed her. She also hops around the classroom....

Birth Story

We wanted to share Naomi's birth story with everyone because it is such a testimony to how God provided for us and looked after me during this whole process. About 2 weeks before the due date I started to get severe back pain that woke me up in the middle of the night. The pain was so bad that it kept me up the rest of the night. After two nights of excruciating pain I went to the doctor and was told that there is nothing they can really do for back pain because I was pregnant. They prescribed some pain medication to take at night. For a couple of nights the medicine helped, but then about 3 days later I woke up again with horrible back pain. I called the doctor again and he referred me to a back specialist because they might have some other options to help with the pain. I got an appointment for Monday (April 7th) which was good because I had another rough night being up for several hours with back pain. I went to work in the morning and ...
