Music and Babies

Last weekend was a busy one! We started our Friday at a Third Day concert. It started off with some hot dogs and a small gathering with the Third Day crew. There was a small musical portion then a Q&A time. Then we moved to the Dorton Arena for the actual concert. I have never been to a concert like this before. The band not only played songs, but led us in a great time of worship! Then on Saturday we went to Alissa's baby shower. I've known Alissa since the third grade and we were freshmen college roommates. Now one of my best friends is pregnant with I know is going to be one of the cutest little boys ever! Congratulations Dave and Alissa! I can't wait to meet the little man! The rest of the weekend was spent trying to feel better. I got the congestion gunk that was going around the school. It was nice to have the rest of the weekend to just relax and try to get better! Thankfully I'm now feeling much better, thanks to rest and Mu...
On Mother's Day weekend, Jeff and I traveled to Clarksville, Virginia. This is where both of his parents are from and where his grandmother currently lives. This is a wonderful little town near a beautiful lake. The picture below is the center of downtown. This should show you how little of a place it is! I absolutely love this little town. While Jeff was helping his dad on the farm, I was able to spend some time with his mom and grandmother. I learned the 'grandma secret' to making really delicious apple cobbler. I was also able to have some fun walking/talking time with my 'new' mother! First we walked downtown where there were booths set out on the road. There was some sort of festival going on. We got to see some neat things people were selling. You can see some of the tents in the picture above. Then we walked down to the lake. GORGEOUS is all I have to say about that! This was such precious one-on one time with mom! Jeff and I got her some chocolate...

Pregnancy Walk

Last weekend Jeff and I participated in a walk to support First Choice of Wake Forest. Thanks so some of you Jeff and I raised over $250 total! We participated in this walk with our Sunday School group: This was a very interesting walk. They had 'obsticales' set up for us to go through. They were obstacles that pregnant women face once they find out they are pregnant. The 'obstical' below was one just for men. They guys in our group had to weave in and out of 81 boxes. There were two men in our group that had double strollers while doing this. It was quite impressive watching them weave with these in their hands! The point of this was to illustrate the sad statistic below: We had a lot of fun woalking with some dear friends and learning more about this great organization! On another topic: About two weeks ago Jeff and I took on the project of staining our deck. Here are the before pictures: After one night of staining, we ran out...
