Skylar Bridal Shower

Jeff and I have two friends that are getting married soon-David and Skylar. I was invited to Skylar's wedding shower and had a blast! We started with some delicious food-job well done Chandler! Then we had the most intense game of making bridal gowns out of toilet paper! We were making dresses for about 40 minutes, but it was so fun! As you can see, these are no ordinary dresses. They are quite fancy.

Here are some of the finished 'brides'. As you can tell, quite intricate toilet paper dresses!

This was my team of bridal gown makers. We had a train, braided sleeves, a braided headband, and a 2 layered skirt.

Skylar's dress won the contest. As you can see she had a mermaid dress, twisted sleeves, a bustle, and her hair was done! Good job ladies!

The shower ended with Skylar opening some presents.

I had a lot of fun at the shower and I'm looking forward to the wedding in less than a month!

Bunny

About a year ago I got a bunny as my classroom pet. I have wanted a Netherland Dwarf bunny for quite some time because of their cute ears and they stay small. Small bunny = perfect for classoom life. So after the beloved Max (my old guinea pig) left us, I knew now was the time to get a bunny! Thank goodness my sister Anna looks on Craigs List all the time for animals because she actually found a Netherland Dwarf Bunny that was up for adoption! YAY! I got her a couple of days after I found the post and was so excited. The kids decided to name her Maddi after a character in the book Fever 1793 . If you like historical fiction books, you should check it out because it's really good! Little did I know that bunnies are full of personality! On her first day home she bit me 3 times and got me 2 times with her nails. Good thing is now she likes me (most of the time) and is much more friendly! She lets the kids in the class pet her and feed her. She also hops around the classroom....

21 Weeks Update

I've been really bad about keeping up with these pregnancy pictures...life just gets so crazy sometimes! We had some exciting things happen this week as you can see in the picture. 1- It's a girl! I was completely convinced that we were having a boy. I had boy dreams, no morning sickness, and Jeff comes from a family of 2 brothers and 2 nephews. Needless to say, I was completely shocked! Don't get me wrong, I am very excited to have a baby girl, just very shocked! 2- I'm halfway through my pregnancy. This is crazy! Time has really been flying! I have a friend at work who is also pregnant and is one day behind me. She brought me a bagel one morning to celebrate our 1/2 way point. This was so needed because I completely forgot to eat breakfast that morning! Thanks Melissa! 3- I play french horn for my church orchestra. My belly is now starting to get in the way of my bell, pushing it out of the way! Our little girl likes to dance a lot when I play. It is...

State Fair

We took our annual State Fair trip. We went on a Friday that I was tracked-out and Jeff took the day off. I was super excited to go because it was Naomi's first time at the fair! From the moment we walked onto the fairgrounds Naomi couldn't stop staring at all of the people! I had to get a picture of her with the HUGE pumpkin. Of course she was more enthralled with the eggplant... Then we went to look at the animals. She had a better view from on top of Jeff's shoulders: My favorite picture of the day: We went into the bunny building because we obviously love bunnies. They had a Lionhead bunny out that we could pet. As soon as I put Naomi down she started to reach for the bunny. The bunny let Naomi pet her for quite a long time! Naomi laughed, smiled, and giggled the whole time. We could have stayed in there for hours and she'd be entertained! I wish we could have gotten it on video!
