Hester Happenings

We named our daughter Naomi (Nay-oh-mee) Laura Hester. After picking this name we realized that there are 2 different ways to say this name and we had no clue! We're pronouncing it with a long a sound, not an i sound after the N. She was born on April 8 at 6:57 am. Here are pictures from our stay in the hospital: You'll have to excuse my appearance here...I was swollen from IV fluids and under the influence of some medication. Here are pictures once we left ICU: We are so blessed to have a healthy little girl!

Some great friends of ours from church invited us to the beach with them. It was so nice to get away with friends and just relax before our little one comes! They took us our for a DRIVE on the beach at Corolla Beach. We were hoping to see some horses, but no luck on this day. Now this picture definitely needs a caption! This is the one charter school in the area. Notice that it's an old one room school house? That's right folks they are K-5 (if I'm remembering correctly) in a one room school house! I guess the good thing is that there aren't many kids so you wouldn't have 20-24 kids in one grade, that would be about the whole school! WOW! This is Jeff telling me to be careful to not fall in the water. I was trying to get the picture above of the really neat bridge. We wanted to share Naomi's birth story with everyone because it is such a testimony to how God provided for us and looked after me during this whole process. About 2 weeks before the due date I started to get severe back pain that woke me up in the middle of the night. The pain was so bad that it kept me up the rest of the night. After two nights of excruciating pain I went to the doctor and was told that there is nothing they can really do for back pain because I was pregnant. They prescribed some pain medication to take at night. For a couple of nights the medicine helped, but then about 3 days later I woke up again with horrible back pain. I called the doctor again and he referred me to a back specialist because they might have some other options to help with the pain. I got an appointment for Monday (April 7th) which was good because I had another rough night being up for several hours with back pain. I went to work in the morning and ...
